You may not be your dad's son, but you may not be mums son either. Years ago they used to take babies away from mum and who knows who mixed up who but I'm jolly sure it MUST have happened, so if you ever find out if Keith isn't biologically dad, please check mum too.

When my dad was dying with dementia a couple of years back I would always kiss him on the head and tell him I loved him. Pretty sure he didn’t know who I was but maybe deep down somewhere in there he did and it took him briefly to a better place. Tell them you love them, there soon gone.
As a fellow 59 year old it is impossible to say I love you to a father. Mine died on 2nd August 2025 aged 97 and in the last few months I did get to kiss him which I never done previously.

I have acquired the stature and hair of my mum’s dad so I think we’re safe on that one.

Yes, kissed my dad on the top of his head on last visit! Not sure he noticed. Might have muttered I love you, but too quietly for him to hear
I've made up for the lack of hugging by being unbearable to my 23 year old son. Still kissing the top of his head.
