Excellent news on the work front. With regard to heart rate, yes the slightly slower rate means better fitness. Olympic athletes could have a heart rate of around 40 bpm. The average heart rate for normal people is 70-75 bpm. So yours has never really been in a danger zone. 60 is excellent to be fair. Your target unless you have a specific fitness goal should be around 50-85% of your maximum heart rate which is 170bpm to 160. for someone your age ie between 50 and 60. Sustaining a heart rate during exercise for short time is best for fitness building. But then the level of fitness improvement can also be measured by how long it takes to fall from the increased rate back to your normal rate. So on the whole I’d say you’re in relatively good shape. Especially after losing 10lbs and having a HR of 60ish.

That’s my professional opinion anyway 👍
