Many moons ago I saw a Tim Minchin show at the Dancehouse in Manchester but I didn't know his Daoust song.
Having now listened to it, I can certainly see why it would appeal to performers and feel the (ironic?) frisson of a creator using his experience of a critic to inspire/produce more material that (inevitably) other professional critics (as well as regular folk) will hear.
