I had a similar occurrence - congratulating ourselves on our great seats and was sitting down relaxed and ready for start of the show when another couple arrived. I thought oh dear what a shame they have made a mistake only to discover although our seats were correct they were for the night before. Love Fern Brady and her book was amazing.

I once witnessed a couple having a similar interaction with an already-seated couple in the stalls while waiting for the Chinese ballet at the Edinburgh International Festival, before they good-naturedly traipsed up to their seats in the circle. The already-seated couple were Paul Daniels and Debbie McGee.

Very much the Richard Herring and Catie Wilkins of their day

I saw her show, also sold out, but without seating drama, at the NZ comedy festival and loved it. Although very much her own, and wonderful, also felt the Billy Connelly 'vibe' in her storytelling.

I grew up in Milton Keynes and always liked it there, but back then I didn’t realise places could be any different 😅

I saw Fern’s show this week too. It was very good, but I did find a lot of the content too close to home, to the point that when she joked that ugly children had to either get pretty or get a great personality I started to cry: yep, I’m fucked.

It’s something that almost puts me off going to the theatre, comedy gigs, seated football matches or even the cinema - the fear of being in the middle of the row (if that’s the only tickets available), needing to get up and having to ask the row of pissed off seated people to stand up and let me pass.

Why can’t they just make places with enough room in front of the seat for people’s legs AND just about adequate space for people to pass by?

All of the shops in MK (inc the market) used to be hidden in the monstrosity called Central Milton Keynes, haven't been there for years though.
