Richard, I was honoured to receive Peter Kessler's bottom, and now I'm even more honoured to learn that Bill had his clutches on it before I did. I worked with him when I was starting out on Up Yer News, and actually sold him my Nissan Micra, a terrible choice of car for a man his size.
Lovely to hear from you Peter. I prefer the version without the pun too! Remembering Bill in a tiny car is, I feel, the kind of thing he would have wanted.
I hadn’t realised John was a guest or I would’ve come down to London for the show but I 100% get what you mean about how he makes you laugh uncontrollably. I listened to a couple of episodes of Microscope last night and had tears running down my face. It’s such an underrated podcast.
I saw the news about Bill Dare on my way back to the station after watching the show. Sad news.
The show with John was excellent - you could see the mischief in his eyes as he kept pushing on. Alexandra's show (the previous week, obvs) will be interesting to (re-)listen to - if there's much left after all the non-broadcastable bits are excised.

Oh hell. I hadn't heard about Bill Dare until I read your note. How awful.
